Why do headaches occur

Why do headaches occur
It is not always possible to find the main reasons for a headache even if the most modern diagnostic methods are used. Neurologists distinguish between more than 150 types of headaches.

The main reasons for a headache

  1. Colds accompanied by high temperature, shiver, a runny nose, cough, and unpleasant feelings in the area of the forehead and maxillary sinuses.
  2. Pains caused by tooth and gum diseases, wrongly set dentures.
  3. High blood pressure (arterial hypertension) leading to painful feelings mainly in the area of the occiput and temples.
  4. Low blood pressure which apart from headaches can cause dizziness, general weakness and syncope.
  5. Migraine is a frequent reason for headaches (it appears suddenly, paroxysmally and affects one half of the head).
  6. Headaches accompany traumatic brain injures (concussion, cerebral contusion, cerebral compression).
  7. Tension headaches: the whole head is aching (constrictive feelings of the “helmet” type). These symptoms may appear due to fatigue, stress, being in one position for a long time (working at the computer during the working day and even after it at home), cervical (neck) osteochondrosis.
  8. Various cerebrovascular diseases are common reasons for headaches. For example, vegetative-vascular dystonia, encephalopathy.
